Artist We Study

Art History

As we start to learn about new artist this year, I will update the "Artist We Study" Section. I am looking forward to a great year of working with some amazing students! Keep in mind as I post artist, you may see different grades learning about the same artist, this is true, but as students get older - they will build on what they have learned from previous years. For the first quarter of the 2013 - 2014 school year, students will:

- Kindergarten will start the year with learning about artist, Kandinsky and his famous painting "Concentric Circles"

- First grade started the year with a Classical Renaissance artist, Leonardo De Vinci and are
currently learning about Georgia O'Keeffe and her amazing flower paintings.

- Second grade will start with a Contemporary artist, George Rodreigue. 2nd graders have also learned about Piet Mondrian.

- Third Grade will start with Modern Artist, Salvador Dali

- Forth Grade will start with a Contemporary Sculpture: Kimmy Cantrell

- Fifth grade will start with a Expressionism Artist (Cubisim): Paul Klee. They have now also learned about Amedeo Modigliani and after the holidays we will learn about Claes Oldenburg
